I’ve been dizzy watching what’s happening with money in the world right now. One day it’s up, the next it’s unstable.
I hear fear when I talk to my friend about it. How are you doing with it?
For me, when the external flow feels chaotic, my inner relationship with the energy of money becomes even more important.
Over the last few weeks, I’ve been writing about something that most money work doesn’t touch – your money shadows. These are the unconscious parts of you that shape your financial reality, most of the time without you realizing it.
Here’s what I’ve been sharing, and why this work might be exactly what you’ve been waiting for.
When Money Isn’t Flowing, Look Here First
You’re doing the work. You’re showing up. You’re using the mindset tools. You work hard.
And still, money isn’t flowing like it should.
When money flow feels blocked, it’s not always about needing a better strategy or a new system.
It’s often about the parts of you that are hidden from you, buried in your shadows, like guilt, fear, shame, or old loyalties running the show, from behind.
So this is where real change can happen.
Shadow Work® helps you stop being shaken by what’s happening out there, and instead, create stability from within.
Money Blocks = Life Blocks
If money isn’t flowing… chances are, there’s another part of your life that’s blocked too.
One of my client unblocked her money guilt, and found herself speaking up more clearly in her relationship.
Another released her fear of looking at her numbers, and then asked for a raise at work.
Yet another decided to raise her prices, and finally started going to the gym again. Go Figure!
Shadow Work touches more than just money. It brings your whole self back into alignment.
Because when you start untangling the money piece, the whole system shifts.
The Self-Worth Shadow
Shadow work is about reclaiming the parts of yourself you’ve hidden, suppressed, or rejected.
When left unexamined, those parts run the show, whispering that you’re not worthy, that success is dangerous, or that more isn’t for you.
Self-worth shadows often sound like:
“You’re not ready.”
“What if they find out you’re not good enough?”
These parts don’t disappear until you meet them with compassion.
And when you do, everything starts to shift—your confidence, your visibility, and your ability to receive.
Valuing Money Without Shame
Many people say they want more money, but secretly feel guilt or shame about receiving it.
This shadow often comes from early messages that told us that wanting money was greedy, dangerous, or unspiritual.
So we unconsciously push money away – even while consciously trying to call it in.
The result? You can’t save. Unexpected expenses “magically” show up. You leak money faster than you make it.
Until you identify and heal this shadow, it is hard for money to stick around.
But when you do, you start welcoming money as a reflection of your value, not a measure of it.
Inherited Money Beliefs
We all inherit money stories from parents, culture, and the communities we grow up in.
Maybe you heard:
“Money doesn’t grow on trees.”
“You have to work hard for every penny.”
“It’s not spiritual to want more.”
“Wanting more is greedy”
These aren’t just sayings. They become unconscious agreements that shape how we earn, spend, and receive.
They were passed down with love, but built on fear.
Shadow Work helps you release the inherited beliefs that no longer serve you and build a money relationship that reflects your truth, not your upbringing.
Shadow Work + Money Goals
Most people set money goals. Few follow through.
Not because they’re lazy, but because their unconscious beliefs are sabotaging the plan.
You set an income goal, then procrastinate.
You raise your rates, then overdeliver.
You say you want to save, then spend it all.
That’s not bad behavior—it’s your shadow trying to protect you.
I’ve been there. I set a goal I truly believed in, but month after month, I fell short.
It wasn’t until I examined my money shadow that everything changed.
I didn’t just hope for more – I became someone who could receive it.
When your shadow isn’t working against you, your goals finally start to stick.
Ready to Go Deeper?
If any of this speaks to you, I invite you to pause and reflect. Here are a few journaling prompts to explore your own money shadows:
📝 Journal Prompts:
– What beliefs about money did I inherit from my family or community?
– Where in my life do I over-give or undercharge and what do I believe that’s protecting me from?
– What emotions come up when I think about receiving more?
– What part of me might be afraid of being seen as “too successful” or “too much” or “greedy”?
– If money were a relationship in my life… how would I describe it?
Let your answers be messy, tender, revealing. You don’t have to fix anything—just listen
And if you’re ready to go deeper…
… I’d love to invite you to schedule a call with me to see how you can transform your money shadows
In the Shadow Wisdom Coaching program, we’ll go beyond affirmations and into your unconscious patterns, so you can finally stop sabotaging your own abundance and start building a money relationship rooted in clarity, power, and self-worth.
Here’s to rewriting your money story,
Karin
